NO GAPS
︎︎︎ Made On TouchDesigner
Overview:Inspired to create this installation after learning about the benefits of interacting with artwork, which include improving brain wave patterns, emotions, and serotonin levels.
I wanted to create a more technologically advanced form of art therapy that could be used in therapy departments of hospitals and clinics.
It was majorly inspired by a quote from Dr. Webber “If you think about SpongeBob, or a video game, there’s never a second when there’s nothing happening on the screen, “If you’re playing a video game, you have to immediately respond; otherwise you lose. You don’t have time to think. So kids with ADHD are very drawn to that — here are no gaps for the to start thinking about something else.”

An interactive meditative experience designed to put the user in a calmer frame of mind.
This installation provides a moment of pause. Allowing no gaps to start thinking about anything else.
The screen consists of thousands of tiny particles, when stepping closer the Kinect2 sensor first detects body figures and makes up an outline of your digital self.
It then calculates every movement in real-time and with each movement, it triggers the placement of the particles. Meaning each user gets to be a part of the creative process, where everybody sees a different visual.
